I started my career with the movie Tri Shakti and it was a disaster.

But I never got discouraged and here I am with three national awards. So believe in yourself and never let go of your dreams,” says director Madhur Bhandarkar, to those aspiring to become a part of the Bollywood clan.

While the world of glamour and glitz doesn’t understand struggle, it doesn’t even understand real talent unless it’s spotted. In comes a show that promises to bring those who matter in the industry face-to-face with Bollywood aspirants. That too in a club-like setting, true to its name – Bollywood Club. With drinks flowing and aspirants performing, you can expect the unexpected, as big names from Bollywood come shopping for talent on this reality show to be aired on Zoom TV.

Even as the episodes are being canned, some real talent has already been discovered. For instance, 23-year-old Saral Roshan from Amravati got an instant break. He says, “I have been in Mumbai for five years. First, I’d gone to another reality TV show, but nothing materialised. I wasn’t even given a chance to perform. From the whole of Mumbai, the producers chose someone from their own academy. So when I came to the Bollywood Club, I was confused. But I am lucky to have got a chance. Rohit Roy promised to give me a break in his next movie.”

Talk about rejection and choreographer-director Farah Khan bluntly says, “There is nothing like overnight success. One has to face a lot of rejection and harsh comments, but your determination and passion should keep you going. Even I was rejected once in a dance audition. But I feel grateful when I look back. Had I been selected, I would have been one of the dancers standing behind Shiamak Davar in his troupe and would not have become a choreographer. So I hope dreams are realised at the Bollywood Club.”

The reality show, soon to be aired on Zoom TV, promises a lot of emotion and drama, with aspirants meeting celebrity producers, directors, choreographers and lyricists. Adding to the spice, Bollywood Club is the perfect setting for scoops, casting couch gossip and a whole lot of inside masala.
