Subrata Sen’s project, starring Rohit Roy will go on the floors in July
Rohit Roy has been finalized to play the lead in Subrata Sen’s next film, which is untitled. Rohit, who was last seen in Agnidev Chatterjee’s Mrs Sen, will be playing a painter in this one.
“The film will have Rohit Roy and Paoli Dam in the lead. Another girl, Malobika, has been roped in to play an important part. The film can be called a sequel to Konkona Sen Sharma’s Tollywood launchpad Ek Je Aachhe Kanya, though the storyline is different. The shooting for the film will tentatively begin in Kolkata in mid-July. There may be an outdoor sequence too,” said the director. “I met Subrata on my last trip to Kolkata when we discussed the script. Things got finalized on Sunday. The story is about an artist who gets entangled in a situation which is not of his making. This is the most interesting script that I’ve read so far in Kolkata. It’s a very contemporary subject. Paoli will be playing my wife, who believes in me, while Malobika will be playing a student of art.” Sources said Rohit will also start shooting for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa from today. He is going to the dance reality show as a wild card entrant.
